Custom Gaming PCs for iRacing
According to iRacing, the recommended PC specs are an Intel Core i7-8700k (or equivalent), 16 GB of RAM, 6 GB dedicated vRAM (ex. GeForce GTX 1060 with 6GB), 50 GB of storage to fit all cars and tracks, and some sort of steering wheel and pedal combo.
We recommend not going for any hardware below these specs to ensure the experience is worthwhile. However, the minimum requirements are a 4 core CPU (ex. Intel Core i5-4430), 16 GB of RAM, 2 GB dedicated vRAM, and 25 GB of storage.
As timing, balance, and accuracy are key in racing simulators, a lower-tier PC may limit your performance on track. Any drop in frame rate could cause slower lap times, any connection issues could ruin online multiplayer race battles (which may affect your safety rating and limit you to select multiplayer events), and lower graphic settings could spoil the immersion of the simulator.
The developers of iRacing have partnered with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team to incorporate several new vehicles into the game. Mercedes' W12 E Performance and 2022 Challenger will be drivable models in the near future. iRacing's development team is working alongside the Mercedes F1 racing team to recreate the driving experience, performance perspective and physics models of Mercedes' winningest machines. Updated track venues include the HockenheimRing, Red Bull Ring, Hungaroring and more. Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team will be instrumental in further refining iRacing's authentic racing simulator.
